Increasing Efficiency in the Workplace

     Increasing efficiency in the workplace is not just the concept of doing more work in less time, it is also about providing the appropriate tools so that you produce quality work with less effort. Although we had armed ourselves with all the right means; strong leaders and a knowledgeable motivated team, a roadblock still remained. A content management system or commonly referred to as CMS or Enterprise Content Management (ECM).  We found we were struggling for network space as well as the frustration of production down time when some of user licenses were maxed out. We knew that in the current economic climate we had to find a way to make the best use of our time and resources.

     We had already begun to implement SharePoint internally and believed that pairing this platform with our experienced development team were just the extra ingredients we needed to address our processing needs.  We looked at the various "boxed" ECM solutions and found the license fees and integration costs to be cost prohibitive. From this excercise, Image Connected was born. Based in SharePoint, Image Connected allows our clients and internal users to search for and retrieve documents from one large database. Creating Image Connected using a SharePoint platform allowed us the ability to have an unlimited number of external users access the database via the internet. The result, no production or employee down time due to limited user licenses and no exceeding size and space limits. Not only has creating and implementing the use of Image Connected helped to increase efficiency, it has also allowed our operational departments to focus on their core responsibilities.
